By Joy Smith (MP), Winnipeg Sun, Jan 28 2011: Human smuggling, along with the debate over Canada’s response to illegal immigrants, has maintained a front-page presence over the past few months. While I firmly believe we as Canadians have a duty to protect our borders and ensure our immigration system continues to welcome immigrants, I am alarmed by the regular use of the term human trafficking in place of human smuggling.
